What does your church believe doctrinally?
We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible; The Trinity of the Godhead; The virgin birth of Jesus; Salvation through Jesus Christ, who is the head of the Church; Believers are baptized (immersed in water) for remission of sins and God adds to the church; The Gift of the Holy Spirit is given to the baptized believer to guide them into all truths and as the comforter; If you live faithful you will go to Heaven with Jesus when He returns!
What is the distinctive plea of the church of Christ?
It is primarily a plea for religious unity based upon the Bible. In a divided religious world it is believed that the Bible is the only possible common denominator upon which most, if not all, of the God-fearing people of the land can unite. This is an appeal to go back to the Bible. It is a plea to speak where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent in all matters that pertain to religion. It further emphasizes that in everything religious there must be a “Thus saith the Lord” for all that is done. The objective is religious unity of all believers in Christ. The basis is the New Testament. The method is the restoration of New Testament Christianity.
What does the church of Christ believe about the Bible?
The original autographs of the sixty-six books, which make up the Bible, are considered to have been divinely inspired, by which it is meant that they are infallible and authoritative. Reference to the scriptures is made in settling every religious question. A pronouncement from the scripture is considered the final word. The basic textbook of the church and the basis for all preaching is the Bible.
What style of worship does this church practice?
The bible commands the observance of worship on the first day of the week (Sunday); we are commanded to sing; we are commanded to pray; we are commanded to observe the Lord’s Supper (in memory of Jesus dying on the Cross for our sins and His resurrection on the third day following His death); we are commanded to give of our means (offerings out of a willing mind - 2nd Cor 8:10-12;); we listen to the word through scriptural reading and from the ministering evangelist - Rom. 10:14.
What do you believe about Women in Ministry?
We hold to the belief, based on the clear teaching of Scripture, that God calls Women into certain aspects of ministry. Women are not empowered to usurp authority of the man in any aspect of worship or any capacity not directed by the authority of the Ministering Evangelist or men in authority, i.e., Elders, Deacons, or Leaders. God mandates that men are in charge of His church on earth under the direction of the Bible and the Holy Ghost.
